Seven new faces included on 30-man Crested Cranes U-17 Squad for CECAFA

The U-17 Crested Cranes team is scheduled to enter residential camp on Monday 2nd, December as they get preparations for the U-17 CECAFA Women Championships underway.

A 30-man squad has been summoned today by head coach Ayub Khalifah, with the team including seven new faces from the team that were champions at the inaugural edition of the COSAFA tournament in Mauritius.

Gombe SS duo Zulaika Ngamita and Lydia Mirembe, Rines High Nasabu Nakate, Uganda Martyrs captain Gloria Namugerwa and Brenda Munyana, Mercy Amoding and Immaculate Odalu from Mukono Bishops and Mukono High respectively are the new faces on Khalifah’s team.

Juliet Nalukenge who captained the side and topped scoring charts at the COSAFA is also part of the squad, together with Fauzia Najjemba and Margret Kunihira who were as well fresh from representing the country at the CECAFA championships in Tanzania.

A bulk of the team that played at the COSAFA has been maintained on the team that will prepare for the CECAFA.

The inaugural edition of the tournament is scheduled to be held from 9th to 18th December 2019 at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

Uganda were drawn in Group A, alongside Ethiopia, Eritrea, and South Sudan
