Football comes to a standstill when SC Villa and KCCA meet, and for one more time, we are to be treated to the spectacle that is the Kampala derby when record league champions SC Villa visit holders KCCA FC at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
Normally when these sides meet, it is a test of might and every side goes all out for victory.
Villa head coach Edward Kaziba has gone a long way in motivating his charges ahead of the game, plainly stating his team’s mission will be grabbing maximum points against their sworn rivals.
“We head into tomorrow’s game with one sole aim that is picking up the victory, because we always prepare for nothing less than victory,” Kaziba told Football-256.
“We are prepared for the game because it is our last game of the first round, we have been preparing for it and we have a fully fit squad which makes us very ready to go and put up a very big challenge,” he added.
SC Villa are currently third of the 16-team StarTimes Uganda Premier League log, 27 points from 14 games, while KCCA FC are just a point and a position below their rivals with 13 games.
“Our team has been performing well in the entire first round of the league, which enabled us to be third on the table but our target is to win tomorrow in order to wind up the first round in the second position.”
“Our player’s attitude and character are all positive, they are ready only to win tomorrow,” Kaziba continued.
The Jogoo have turned up their performances this season, from relegation strugglers to potential title challengers. They have lost just once this season, on the opening day of the league against Kyetume.
Against KCCA, they come up against probably their biggest challenge of the season yet.
