CECAFA U-17: Crested Cranes drawn in group A ahead of the U17 CECACA Women’s challenge Cup

The Crested Cranes have been drawn in Group A alongside Ethiopia, Eritrea and South Sudan ahead of the U17 CECAFA Challenge Women’s Cup from December 7th-18th, 2019.  

Crested Cranes who are the hosts shall head into this competition buoyed by their recent success in the COSAFA U17 championship where they emerged Champions. 

They head into the tournament and head looking to finish with two major honours in 2019.

The team shall be headed by Kawempe Moslem Coach Ayub Khalifah Kiyingi who lead the team to COSAFA victory, at the first time of asking as coach of the national side.  

Skipper Juliet Nalukenge hopes to lead the team from the front, hoping to continue her goal scoring form for both club and country.

The other group in the competition consists of Tanzania, Burundi and Djibouti who were drawn in group B with seven teams confirming their participation. 

The tournament will contemporaneously run with the Men’s CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in Uganda from December 7- 19, 2019.


Group A: Uganda, Ethiopia, Eritrea, South Sudan

Group B: Tanzania, Burundi, Djibouti
