Crested Cranes shall have to wait for another year if they are to put their hands get their hands on the CECAFA Women’s challenge Cup that is ongoing Tanzania.

The Crested Cranes fell 1-0 to defending champions Tanzania, in what was a repeat pf last year’s final, which Tanzania as well won 1-0.

The game was evenly matched in the first half with both sides seeing a fair possession of the ball but hardly created any clear goal scoring opportunities with the first 45 minutes ending in a stalemate.

Tanzania did look like they were the likelier side to open their account in the second stanza as they managed to create opportunities through Amina Ali and skipper Asha Rashid but Uganda managed to hold out Tanzania’s forwards.

With the game seemingly headed for penalty shout outs, Tanzania opened the scoring in the game, following brilliant interplay between Amina and Omary, to set up Asha Rashid who made no mistake, slotting home what would prove to be the decisive goal of the match.

The Kilimanjaro Queens shall face off against Kenya in the final after the latter registered a 5-0 in the other semi final

The Crested Cranes shall play their final game within 24 hours of their semifinal loss as they face off with Burundi in the third place play off at the Chamazi Stadium in Dar-es-Salaam.
