Maroons could lose point to Vipers for fielding ineligible player

Maroons FC goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunnyo

Hannignton Ssebwalunyo could be the reason Maroons Football Club lose their point picked against Vipers after the one all draw in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Friday at Prisons Grounds Luzira.

If Uganda Premier League records is anything to go by, Ssebwalunyo was booked against Kyetume, Express and Proline.

This automatically earns him a suspension for the next fixture but played all 90 minutes against Vipers.

According to section 9 of 29 of the FUFA Competition rule; A player who accumulates three (3) bookings (cautions) in a league and mixed-format competition shall automatically become an ineligible player for the next one physically played match.

Fred Amaku scored for Maroons in the 45th minute before Fahad Bayo leveled matters in the 67th minute.

Currently on 34 points, Vipers lead the 16 team log as they climax the first round while Maroons are seventh with 20 points.
