After silencing their ‘noisy neighbours’ with a win, KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi claims that their objective is to win all their remaining games in the league.
Mutebi said this after his side’s 1-0 victory over the Venoms at StarTimes Stadium Lugogo on Saturday, courtesy of Muzamiru Mutyaba’s 32nd minute strike.
“The team is in a very good state whereby we have five games in hand, we are optimistic of winning all these games,” Mutebi said before adding.
“Our focus is not mainly on Vipers though the title battle is between us and them, they are the table leaders but we have to first beat other teams who are ahead of us,” he added.
The win took KCCA FC to 22 points from ten games, meaning they can finish the first round on the top of the table if they manage to win all their remaining games.
KCCA are 11 points behind leaders Vipers SC, but they do have to navigate past URA, SC Villa, Proline, Kyetume and Mbarara city before the climax of the first round.
In the same vein, the tactician praised defender Samuel Kato’s performance, the young defender made a number of crucial blocks, especially in the second half which resulted in being awarded the Pilsner Man of the Match.
“Kato’s ability to contain Vipers especially in the second half is a sign that he has matured into a very important player at the team,” he noted.
KCCA’s next game will be a home game against URA FC, on Wednesday, November 20th as they aim at continuing their five game winning streak.
