Sports Club Villa can only hope for to replicate their performance against Tooro United, when they visit Bright Stars FC at the Bombo Barracks Grounds, Bombo on Wednesday afternoon. The two-side clash in the StarTimes Uganda Premier league.

The record league champions registered an emphatic 4-1 victory against Tooro, their biggest winning margin since the start of the season, extending their unbeaten run to 10 games.

The Jogoo currently lie fourth on the log, accumulating 20 points in their opening 11 games of the season. But they have lost ground in the title change, as they are 10 points behind leaders Vipers.

But the were never expected to be title challengers, after enduring their worst top flight season in their 40-year history. Suggesting that it is already a successful season even by Villa standards.

Their hosts Bright Stars desperately need a win having managed to grab maximum points only on one occasion this season.

Subsequently condemning them to 14th on the log, with just 10 points from 10 games thus far. They are level on points though with Mbarara City, and a win could push them out of the relegation zone for the first time this season.

Previously renowned for being a hard team to break down, the side have so far failed to replicate that under new head coach Mohammed Kiseka. But probably the team are yet to get to grip with the current playing style even when the season is near the half way mark.

Bright Stars will be without the services of Farouk Katongole who is serving suspension after he went AWOL from the club. Otherwise the rest of the squad are available for selection.

The Jogoo side on the other hand shall be boosted by the form of their prolific forward Ambrose Kirya who bagged a brace and an assist against Tooro United.

Bashir Mutanda may still be out of contention as he still recovers from an injury. Head coach Edward Kaziba will be blessed as none of his players were selected for the Cranes regional tour match tomorrow.

The last three league meetings between these sides have ended in stalemates, with Bright Stars yet to register a win against the Jogoos in their six-league meeting.

Neutrals however shall hope these two sides can bring out an entertaining fixture like the eight-goal thriller in 2016. The game ended 5-3 in favour of SC Villa.
