Ugandan international Abdu Lumala is known among his peers to have a hot head much as he always tries to keep that under wraps.
He however let the lid off the bottle during Pyramids’ 3-2 win over El-Etang El-Harby in the Egyptian Premier League on Monday night.
Former Cranes’ coach Sebatien Desabre replaced Lumala with Islam Issa in the 39th minute when the game was still goalless.
Lumala wasn’t pleased, he walked off throwing tantrums before kicking an official who was standing in the technical area.
“I would like to apologize on behalf of my teammates and technical staff and our fans, it’s not acceptable am very sorry,” Lumala posted on his official Twitter handle after.
Pyramids got the lead a minute after Lumala was substituted through Abdallah El-Said, Eric Traore made it 2-0 heading into the break.
El-Said completed his brace in the 65 minute before Moaz El Henawy pulled one back in the 80th minute.
Mohammad Vieira Sanogo’s 83rd strike to make it 3-2 was all the hosts could offer as Pyramids walked away with all three points.
“As I wrote earlier am sorry though people will start to judge but those who know me as a person am not that kind of person who gets that angry,” Lumala posted again after his initial apology was welcomed with negative comments.
“What I did was a stupid reaction from me i accept I didn’t actually kick anyone. And it won’t happen again am a professional player. Sorry,” he added.
Pyramids have 11 points from five games after winning three and drawing the other two.
