The Kasasiro Boys’ remaining hurdle towards their ultimate objective will be overcoming Petro de Luanda in a two-legged encounter of the first round qualifier set to be played at Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda on Saturday September 14.
According to the club’s assistant coach Morley Byekwaso, the team knows the task at hand, and are ready to to pick up a positive result against their Angolan opponents.
“We arrived safely, and have already had a training session. We are ready for the game though the boys have a bit of jet lag but they should feel better by game time.” Byekwaso said after their first training session in Luanda on Thursday evening.
“We came to play our way because we are ready to get positive results from Saturday’s game, we believe the players will give out their best,” he added.
Meanwhile, midfielder Gift Abubakar Ali also sounded similar sentiment as Byekwaso, as he said the team are in position to pick up a positive result.
“We are in good shape, ready for Saturday. It’s a big game for both players and a club because our goal is to reach somewhere,” Gift Ali said.
“We are looking forward to getting positive results, though the opponents are not so easy but we came to get positive results,” Ali noted.
The two sides will meet again on Friday September 27th in the second leg encounter, the winner over the two legs will advance to the group stage while the loser will enter CAF Confederations Cup play-off round.
