Despite being in their maiden season in the top tier of Ugandan football, Wakiso Giants have already impressed many people by their handling of things both on and off the pitch.

On the pitch, the Purple Sharks have won two of the three games played in the 2019/2020 Star Times Uganda Premier League.

However, they lost their opening game against KCCA FC but quickly picked themselves up with back to back 3-1 and 1-0 home wins over URA FC and Tooro United respectively.

The Kefa Kisala coached side will be back in action on Wednesday, September 11th, when they visit Bright Stars at the Betway Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku, with the possibility of registering their third consecutive win in the league.

“Our main target is to live up to the task by winning the game which will be our third win of the season,” Wakiso Giants head coach Kefa Kisala said.

“The players are in good shape and well prepared so that we get maximum points, we shall handle the game carefully because Bright Stars lost its previous game, and they want to come back fighting to win this one but we are ready for them,” he added.

Meanwhile, midfielder Tom Masiko who is on a season-long loan from Vipers SC is also buoyant that Wakiso’s only focus is to collect maximum points from Wednesday’s game.

“We are well prepared for tomorrow’s game, every player is focused at getting maximum points against Bright Stars, we tried to rectify some few mistakes we did against Tooro United,” he noted.

Wakiso Giants are enthused with the availability of their midfielder Kirizestom Ntambi, whose debut for the club has been delayed due to late availability of his ITC, but all has been sorted and is in contention to play.

Another new signing Alex Komakech is also available for selection, he has been delayed by lack of paperwork from his former club Nyamityobora

Meanwhile, the club’s captain Yasin Mugabi Mugabi is still unavailable due to a knee injury he got against URA FC, while Yasin Mugume is expected to be back in January
