Its ten days to Uganda Cranes’ first leg of the final qualifying round of the 2020 African Nations Championship qualifier against Burundi in Bujumbura.
The side has already started preparation, with their first training session held on Wednesday at StarTimes Stadium Lugogo where 15 players turned up for the morning training session.
The official team summoned for the game has not been released but coach Abdallah Mubiru and his assistant Livingstone Mbabazi worked with those players available.
Goalkeepers James Alitho and Joel Mutakubwa were taken through their paces by goalkeeping coach Sadik Wassa while the other 13 players worked with the coaches.
Working with the national team for the first time was Police FC defender Arafat Galiwango, SC Villa forward Benson Muhindo and Onduparaka midfielder Gadaffi Wahab.
Proline and KCCA FC players are at the moment excused from the training since they are involved in the 2019/2020 Total InterContinental engagements this weekend but the latter’s defender John Revita trained with the Cranes.
Proline will be playing AS Kigali in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup first round in Rwanda while KCCA FC visit Atlético Petróleos de Luanda in the first leg of the Total CAF Champions League.
Vipers SC players were also not part of the session but are likely to turn up since they form the spine that make the national team.
