Despite the absence of their head coach Charles Livingstone Mbabazi, Onduparaka FC comfortably got a deserved win against Express FC.
Goals from Gibson Adinho and Ceaser Okhuti either side of half time, earned the Caterpillars a 2-0 win against The Red Eagles at Betway Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku, yesterday.
And Onduparaka assistant coach Sadiq Sempigi, acknowledged that the win was down to thorough preparations prior to the game.
“The game was easy because we prepared well for it, our strategy was to attack them and the boys did it,” Sempigi said after the game.
“We played well, rectified some of the mistakes we made against Proline. Am happy the boys stuck to the plan we had prior to the match,” he added.
“Express had a good game as well, but am sure we were a better side. We knew they could not hurt us when they had the ball so that’s why we allowed them to enjoy possession for large spells,” Ssekimpi continued.
This was Onduparaka’s first win of the season, they kicked off the season by getting three free points and goals after Police FC’s failure to honor the fixture but slipped against Proline in the second game after a 1-0 loss.
With six points, the West Nile side move to the top of the table by virtue of a better goal difference but they are level on points with Vipers, KCCA, BUL, Wakiso Giants.
