Farouk Miya’s football journey is one that is full of so many sweet memories for himself but also his fans, and it’s probably because of those recollections that the 2015 Airtel FUFA Football of the year’s star can’t stop shining.

Four years ago, Miya was helping Vipers win their second league title with important goals before guiding Uganda to a record 13th CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in Ethiopia.

The former St Mary’s Kitende player on Tuesday was seen driving around the streets of Konya, Turkey in a one minute and 42 seconds video.

It wasn’t your typical social media video by Miya, it was his official unveiling as a player of Konyaspor on a three-year deal from HNK Gorica in Croatia and he can’t wait to don the green and white stripe.

Excitedly waiting for the day, I will be on the field,” Miya who will don jersey number 21 was quoted by the club website.

“I admired the stadium and facilities, as soon as I stepped into the club I realized what a great community I was in.”

“I signed for three years here today. During this period, I want to make a great contribution to Konyaspor with my performance.”

“I had the chance to watch the first game of the season. We have a very high quality and very strong team. I am sure that I will adapt to the team in a short time and will do my best to the end,” he added.

Capped 59 times with 19 goals, Konyaspor will be Miya’s fifth European home, after Standard Liege (2016-2018), Roya Excel Mouscron (2017), Sebail (2018) and HNK Gorica (2018-2019).
