Kenya: Owiny set to join KCB

Mathare United Ugandan keeper Allan Owiny is set to join Kenyan Premier League side, Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) FC after parting ways with the Slum Boys.

Owiny has been in talks with the Zedekiah Otieno coached team for weeks now and he has finally struck a deal with the Nairobi based team, his fifth club in the Kenyan Premier League.

The diminutive shot-stopper has previously played for Thika United, Sony Sugar, Muhoroni Youth, and Mathare United and he is now set to join the Bankers to continue with his career in Kenya’s top flight.

“Everything has been agreed on and he will join us,” A source from the Bankers camp disclosed to before adding.

“He is an experienced keeper whom we believe will improve the team. He will also bring competition into the team which is a good thing.”

At KCB, he will compete for the starting berth with former Nakumatt FC keeper Zamu Adisa and former Bandari FC custodian, Joseph Okoth.

He will also become the Banker’s seventh signing after the arrival of Ian Motanda, Kennedy Odhiambo, Steven Waruru, Enock Agwanda, Pascal Ogweno, and Steven Onyango.
