It is not so easy for youthful players to get promoted to the senior team and immediately blossom as they encounter a number of challenges.
This is usually due to pressure from various corners, but for promising forward Sadat Anaku, the reverse is true at KCCA FC.
Following his official promotion to the senior team a few weeks back, club head coach Mike Mutebi trusted him to lead the hunt for goals at the 2019 CECAFA Kagame Cup in Rwanda.
This was due to the absence of main striker Patrick Kaddu who was with Uganda Cranes at the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
A responsibility Anaku has wholesomely embraced with two goals to his name already.
However, it has not been a miracle for Anaku’s steady progress so far but rather a number of factors.
“I thank KCCA FC for giving me the chance to play in such a big tournament,” Anaku told www.football-256.com.
“It’s not easy to come in and settle fast as a young player but I want to thank the senior players especially Sadam Juma, Muzamir Mutyaba and Gift Ali for the guidance always that has helped me believe in my self.”
“The tournament has helped me get a lot of experience that will help me in my career and next season.”
The confident Anaku also revealed his target in the upcoming season.
“I want to work hard next season to be the club leading forward like it was in the Juniors League and I believe I can achieve it.”
Anaku who finished with 31 goals in last season’s Juniors league played a few games for the KCCA FC senior team in the league putting up a fine displays.
This lured Mike Mutebi to promote him with a few other players like Musa Ramathan, Hassan Jurua, Joseph Bukenya and Kato Samuel to the senior team.
At the ongoing CECAFA tournament in which KCCA FC have already stormed the finals, Anaku has featured in three matches scoring twice.
That was against Azam FC in the group stages and against Zambian side Green Eagles FC in the semi finals.
