Pilsner Super 8: KCCA FC to start title defence against Wakiso Giants

Pilsner Super 8 defending champions KCCA FC will play against new league entrants Wakiso Giants in the second edition of the competition.

The tournament that was started last season with an aim of further preparing teams ahead of the upcoming season consists of eight teams, six from the UPL according to how they finished the previous season and the first two entrants from the FUFA Big League.

KCCA FC, Vipers SC,  URA FC, Tooro United, Mbarara City FC, and Onduparaka FC took the first to sixth place last season respectively.

 While Proline FC and Wakiso Giants took the first and second place respectively in the FUFA Big League to gain promotion into the top tier. 

The other interesting draw will see Proline FC face Vipers SC in an encounter the Kitende based side will be targeting a sweet revenge for their shocking 2-1 quarter final defeat in the Stanbic Uganda Cup last season at the Star Times Stadium, Lugogo. 

KCCA FC won the first edition of the Pilsner Super 8 Cup having defeated Onduparaka FC 2-0 at the Betway Muteesa ll Stadium, Wankulukuku.

The winner takes home UGX20m shillings, UGX12m to the runners up, UGX10M each to the two semi finalists  and UGX8m each to the rest of the participating teams.
