Ugandan Andrew Waiswa grabbed a rare brace to help his side, Sony Sugar overcome his former club Kakamega Homeboyz 2-1 in a Kenyan Premier League match played on Wednesday at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega County.

The Millers were on a seven-match unbeaten run and went into the game looking to preserve their record against an equally impressive Kakamega Homeboyz at the latter’s backyard.

Waiswa was also facing his former club, the defender played for the Kakamega based outfit for a short period before he was shipped out in 2018.

Twenty three minutes into the game the central defender got his first of the game connecting to a Joshua Otieno delivery with a fine first touch finish.

Homeboyz rallied back and their persistent pressure finally paid off in the 72nd minute when Kenyan Premier League leading scorer Allan Wanga set up his attack partner Max Ravel who fired into an empty net.

Waiswa would however have the last laugh as he nodded home the winner in the fourth minute of added time to crush the home supporters’ hearts.

With the win, Sony leapfrogged Homeboyz to fourth on the log with 55 points, Homeboyz drop to fifth with 52.
