Proline Football Club look set to play their first ever Uganda Cup final following their 2-1 away win against Kyetume in the first leg of the Stanbic Uganda Cup semifinal.

Ibrahim Bonyo and Mustafa Mujuzi scored in both halves of the game to boost the Shafic Bisaso coached side with a vital away win at Nakisunga playgrounds on Monday. Robert Ssentongo scored the only goal for Kyetume FC.

“It’s a big win for us, we benefited from the little we know about our opponents but it is not yet over as there are still 90 minutes away,” Bisaso told

The two teams will clash again in the return leg at StarTimes Stadium Lugogo on Sunday, May 5th, to determine who will play the final of the most prestigious knockout tournament in Uganda.

Proline who eliminated Vipers at the quarterfinal stage of the tournament are determined to walk away with the trophy at the end of the season.

In the other semifinal, Bright Stars and Express played to a one-all stalemate at the Champions Stadium in Mwererwe on Sunday. Michael Birungi scored for Express before Nelson Senkatuka made it one-all after just three minutes.

The two side will meet for the return leg at the Betway Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku on May 9th, Express hoping to build on their away goal and make the final
