Kenya national football team, Harambee Stars will play Madagascar in two Pre 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations friendly matches, Football Federation Kenya (KFK) president Nick Mwendwa has disclosed.

Stars will be making a comeback to the biannual tournament in Egypt after a 15-year absence and the federation is working towards making the preparations a success.

The team will camp in France for two weeks in readiness for the tournament where Kenya has been placed on group C alongside Senegal, Algeria and East Africa rivals, Tanzania

Federation chief, Mwendwa had now revealed that the Sebastien Migne coached side will take on Madagascar and Gambia in pre-tournament warm up clashes.

” We are in the process of finalizing contracts with the two nations we plan to play, possibly Madagascar and Gambia,” he stated.

He further revealed that Kenya turned down a chance to play North African giants Tunisia on June 17th as coach Migne wasn’t comfortable with the date of the 2004 champions prefered.

“Tunisia wanted us to play them in Tunis on June 17 but the coach proposed only two friendly matches that must be played on June 7 and 15 so that he can maximize the two days to assess his players before naming the final 23,” Mwendwa added.

Meanwhile Harambee Stars players have been promised huge bonuses. All players who will make it to the preliminary squad will earn Ksh250,0000 (2500 USD) while those who will be included in the 23-man squad will each pocket Ksh500,000 (5,000 USD).
