Ten-man Cameroon showed vigor when they outclassed Angola and kicked them out the 2019 Total U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in yet another penalty shootout showdown to join Guinea at the finals.

Cameroon won 4-3 in penalties in yet another goalless stalemate in normal time despite the fact that Cameroon were reduced to ten men after Fabrice Ndzie Mezama’s second booking in the 47th minute of the game on Wednesday.

Angola put up a good performance in the normal time with five shots on target but they were not able to use their numerical advantage in finding the back of the net.

Cameroon were on the receiving end the entire game as they managed only one shot on target.

After normal time, Cameroon’s prowess came of age in the penalty shootouts as their only liberator to the finals, they eventually achieved their feat.

Rivaldo Carlos Botelho Cambuta and Porfilio Ferreira Abrantes failed to convert their spot kicks for Angola, it was Domingos Paulo Andrade, Gaspar Mabanza Paulo Morais and Zito Andrade Sebastiao Luvumbo.

Cameroon’s four takers Steve Regis Mvoue, Nassourou Ben Hamid Ndongo, Yanick Noah and Daouda Amadou were all on target to guide the West African country.

“A game is not won before being played, we have to sweat and win, if Angola is here its because they merited being at this stage. The most important thing is to remain focus and play, we have seen the Angolans play and we think they are good. We will give everything.” Cameroon head coach Libih Thomas told journalists before the game.

Cameroon will lock horns with Guinea on Sunday at Benjan Mkapa national stadium to determine the winner of the tournament, Guinea knocked out Nigeria in penalties earlier on the day, Nigeria and Angola will face off in the losers’ match on Saturday.
