History beckons for Steve Mvoue at U17 finals

Steve Mvoue is son to former Indomitable Lioness skipper Marie Mvoue and is on the verge of making history Total U 17 AFCON kicks off this Sunday in Tanzania, he has been tipped as the player to watch.

Mvoue will follow in the footsteps of his brother Stephane Zobo who played for Cameroon in the 2017 edition in Gabon, the latter currently plies his trade at French side Toulouse FC.

Steve, the strong pacy striker has been a nightmare for defenders in Cameroon, he scored thrice in Antalya, Turkey and Kagali, Rwanda, two separate preparatory championship where Cameroon played five games in preparation for the tournament.

The 17-year-old forward has scored 10 Goals in 15 appearances for Cameroon’s Under 17 and was preselected for Cameroon’s Under 23 National Team.

He was also the top scorer of the 2018 UNNIFAC Tournament with six goals, his goals led Cameroon to success in Equatorial Guinea.

Cameroon will play its first game in the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations on Monday April 15th 2019 against Guinea in Dar es Salaam.

Cameroon is in group B Guinea, Senegal, and Morocco, the best two teams from each group will qualify automatically to FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil slated in September.
