Wakiso Giants newly signed custodian Yasin Mugabi started life with his new side in the manner anyone would love to.

Wakiso Giants edged Bukedea Town Council 1-0 through Steven Bengo in the first half of the game at Kyabazinga Stadium, Jinja on Saturday.

“It was a good debut on my side because I kept a clean sheet and also the team won,” Mugabi told before adding.

“It wasn’t an easy game because we played a good team that created several chances, we also had chances but took away just one which made it difficult as the game remained balanced but its good we saw it out,” he added.

It was Wakiso’s ninth win of the season, they have also garnered five draws and are yet to lose a game, it was a vital win according to Mugabi.

“A win was so important to us because we lead by six points ahead of Kyetume who is our next opponent so if we dropped points it would give them confidence but at the moment, we go into the game in a better position.”

The Purple Sharks remain the only unbeaten side in the 2018-19 FUFA Big League after 14 games direct qualification is the ultimate target.
