SC Villa head coach Douglas Bamweyana admitted that unavoidable mistakes by his players led to his side’s humiliation loss against KCCA FC at StarTimes Stadium Lugogo.
SC Villa lost 4-2 to the table leaders on Saturday evening, KCCA’s goals coming through Mike Mutyaba, Mustafa Kizza, Allan Kyambadde and Allan Okello while SC Villa’s consolation goals were scored by Charles Lwanga and Ambrose Kirya.
“We made basic errors and KCCA used them to punish us,” Bamweyana said in the post-match press conference before adding.
“We were the better team in the first half, we had total control of the game but luck was not on our side.”
“We created several chances but we couldn’t convert them, KCCA converted theirs that’s why they have won,” he added.
Bamweyana however applauded his side for the spirit they demonstrated by scoring two late goals to reduce on the deficit.
“Coming from a 4-0 to a 4-2 really shows that we were a good team, the result however doesn’t illustrate the clear image of what was on the pitch,” he said.
In their next fixtures, SC Villa will host Kirinya Jinja SSS at Mandela National stadium on a game that will be played on floodlights, KCCA will be traveling to Buhinga stadium to play Tooro United FC.
