We lack a top striker – Sam Ssimbwa

URA FC coach Sam Ssimbwa watched his boys thrash Onduparaka 3-1 in their second straight win of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at the Mandela National Stadium Namboole on Friday.

Despite the result, which was their biggest this season, Ssimbwa believes his team is short of top goal scorers.

One would imagine Onduparaka’s defense could have been weak hence the URA goals but Ssimbwa doesn’t think so.

“The Tohas (Rashid Toha) are not weak. Went on the drawing board and rectified our mistakes” Ssimbwa told www.football-256.com.

“We still don’t have a top striker who can finish easily but we can create chances and eventually score.”

“Even before we started winning, against Mbarara City and Tooro United, we could have won but there were factors which affected us, those who watched those matches saw what I mean,” he added.

The tax collectors had gone five matches without scoring and conceding before playing a one all draw with Mbarara and beating Bright Stars 2-0 at Mwererwe before they played Onduparaka.

Effectively they put up a convincing performance against Onduparaka which resulted into the 3-1 victory.

Shafic Kagimu scored the opener from a spot kick on 23 minutes, an own goal by Abel Eturude following a corner kick turned doubled Onduparaka’s score.

Viane Sakajugo pulled one back halftime, three minutes after the break, Matthew Odongo restored the two goal lead.

Meanwhile Onduparaka caretaker Simeone Massaba sighted the lack of concentration as the reason that cost his side.

“We lost some concentration somewhere somehow and we conceded the first two goals through set pieces. So it was a little bit difficult to deal with set pieces.”

The win takes URA FC to fourth on the log with 23 points while Onduparaka are third just a point better than the former.
