Mucureezi crowned Pilsner player of the month

Mbarara City FC midfielder Paul Mucureezi was on Monday crowned the Pilsner Player of the month of November at a brief function held on Monday morning at Kati Kati Restaurant in Kampala.

Mucureezi beating Police’s midfielder Juma Balinya and KCCA’s defender and skipper Timothy Awany to the award.

Awany has been nominated due his good defensive prowess which saw the Kasasiro Boys win two of the three games they played and drew one, against Mucureezi’s Mbarara side.

Mucureezi has been superb during this period by netting two goals and three assists, to grab the accolade and Shs1m.

“I am humbled to have been voted a player of the month. Am looking forward to working hard for many more accolades in the future,” a jovial Mucureezi told journalists before adding.

“I thank the sponsors of this award, and all those who voted for me, it’s a big motivation to continue working hard for my team.”

“I have been able to achieve this due to the teamwork and support from my colleagues and technical team at Mbarara City. I thank them because we are together working hard to lift Mbarara City so that it becomes one of the best clubs in the county,” he said.

The Pilsner manager of the month accolade was won by Mbarara City’s Livingstone Mbabazi. Mbarara won three of the four games played in November, they only lost to Police 3-1 at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo.

Mbabazi beat Police FC’s Abdallah Mubiru who guided his side to two wins and two draws from the four games played in the process. Mbabazi also won himself Shs1M
