Ugandan international defender Savio Kabugo will miss the Addis Ababa Cup final with his new side Sebeta Kenema through suspension.

The former AS Vita defender was red carded in his side’s 3-1 win over Makalaka FC at home in a closely contested encounter on Thursday evening.

Kabugo who is struggling for match fitness put up a decent display with timely interceptions and clearances in a game his aerial prowess was felt but was shown marching orders in stoppage time for retaliation.

The match was Kabugo’s fourth in Sebeta colours since joining in a month back from Vita.

Sebeta Kenema will face St George FC who defeated Ethiopian Bunna 2-0 in the other semi final clash.

The Addis Ababa City Cup is an annual knockout football competition in men’s domestic Ethiopian Football which is organised by the Addis Ababa Football Federation since 2014.

It is usually contested among the football clubs based in Addis Ababa with the exception of teams who enter the tournament by invitation.

Sebeta Kenema have never played in the final of this competition and come up against a side who have won the championship a record five times in seven finals.
