FUFA AWARDS: Kenyan among 12 nominated for FUFA female Award.

Twelve female players will be in contention for the 2019 Airtel-FUFA Female player of the year award, according to the list of nominees ousted by the organisers. 

The initial list of nominees includes Kenyan Maureen Kinavudori, who plies her trade at FUFA Women Super League club UCU Cardinals. The striker Captained the UCU side to the FUFA Women Elite league championship. 

Uganda U-17 girls team captain Juliet Nalukenge, who topped scoring charts at the recently concluded COSAFA Championship in Mauritius, as Uganda emerged victorious at the tournament’s inaugural edition held this year makes the list. Fauzia Najjemba who was also impressive for the Ugandan team at the COSAFA is also among the nominees. 

Reigning FUFA female player of the year, Ruth Aturo is also among the 12 nominees together with Hasifah Nassanga UCU Lady Cardinals’ Hasifah Nassang and Uganda Martyr’s defender Shadia Nankya who was also the top scorer in this year’s Uganda Cup. 

The awards gala is scheduled for the 14th of December, 2019, at a glamorous awards night to be held at the Commonwealth Speke Resort, Munyonyo.

A total of 14 categories will be voted for and awarded on the evening, with the Male Player of the year and the Female Player of the Year awards the highlights of the evening.

Three categories will be included in the voting process, with the coaches carrying 50%, captains taking up 25% and the fans constituting 25% of the final votes.
