Banned for five years before they were later reduced to six months referee Ronald Kirwanga will return from his suspension as an assistant referee.
That’s according to the FUFA national referees nomination list for Kampala Regions that has 10 male referees, 10 male assistant referees, three female referees, and four female assistant referees.
It should be remembered that on November 7th, 2018 FUFA banned referee Kirwanga for three years and his second assistant Samuel Kakembo for five. The first assistant referee Lydia Wanyama Natabo was also banned for six months.
Their crime was allowing an 86th minute Vipers goal to stand against Express when striker Tito Okello who was leveling matters was yards offside.
Kirwanga’s ban was later reduced to six months and he has been officiating especially at Masaza competition level and other pre-season friendlies.
Before the ban, Kirangwa was ranked highly in Kampala Region, but on the current list of assistant referees he ranks 10, with Samuel Mbabali, Mustapha Mafumu, and Micheal Kalule in first, second and third positions respectively.
Asadu Ssemeere is ranked number one on the 10 man list for the referees that also has Richard Kimbowa and Ali Kaddu who are also pending approval from the FUFA Disciplinary Committee.
