Kyetume’s Batte wants to showcase goal scoring prowess

With less than 72 hours to the start of the 2019/20 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season, newbies Kyetume FC on Monday, August 26th unveiled 19 players and their technical team at Jobiah Hotel in Mukono.

Amongst the players unveiled was forward Batte Seif who at the colorful function exclusively revealed to this website who influenced him to join the Slaughters as well as setting his season target.

“I feel so happy joining Kyetume FC as they have a clear vision which is every player’s priority,” Batte told www.football-256.com before adding.

“Honestly coach George “Best” Nsimbe influenced me a lot to come here since he was my coach at my former team Maroons FC so I found it easy to join in.”

“My target is to be amongst the first five leading scorers in the league as well as getting back in the Uganda Cranes fold and am confident I can achieve it,” added the former Maroons and Bright Stars forward.

From the unveiled team, there were two foreign players; Michael Engeles from Ivory Coast and midfielder Wurube Robert Lopidia from South Sudan.

Kyetume FC will begin life in Uganda’s most football stage against record champions SC Villa on Thursday 29th- August 2019 at the Mandela National Stadium Namboole under floodlights.

The 19 players unveiled: Joel Mutakubwa, Salim Sowedi (both goalkeepers) Yusuf Ssaka, Samson Mutyaba, Micheal Engeles, Julius Ntambi, Noel Nassasira, Isaac Kirabira, Siraje Turyamureba, Charles Musoke, Sam Senkoomi, Jonathan Mugabi, Steven Kagooda, Emmanuel Obua, Derrick Ochen, Musa Ssali, Baker Buyala, Rahumatah Kagimu, Robert Lopidia Wurube, Sheif Batte.

Players retained: Vincent Kayizzi, Denis Lubowa, Deo Isejja, Ibrahim Kazindula, Julius Lule, Elkanah Nkuggwa, Yusuf Shaka, Robert Sentongo, Cephas Kambugu, Benon Tahomera, Ali Ngogo and Idris Mbola.
