Mukono High managed to come from a goal down to defeat Kenyan side Nyakach on day three of the ongoing East African Secondary School games in Arusha Tanzania.
Nyakach scored inside the first ten minutes of the second half before Mukono High skipper Fauzia Najjemba inspired her side with a brace.
The win for the Ugandan side takes them to six points in three games but still second in group A with the same points as St Noa separated by goal difference.
The double by Najjemba takes her scoring tally to four, making her the leading goalscorer in group A.
“The performance has not been such good according to our previous game, we used a lot of energy but thank God they managed to win,” Mukono High head coach Isma Mukiibi said.
“Our last game in group stages is very vital to us because we need only to win to see ourselves through to the next level.
Mukiibi also praised Najjemba’s performance, she has always stepped up when the team needs her the most.
“I thank the captain Fauzia Najjemba who has shown all the sign of leadership to the team because she has done all she had to do.”
Mukono High will come back to action on Tuesday against Tanzania’s Kihesa who have failed to collect a point in their last two outings
